Finishing the Course

Acts 20:24 “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

Finishing the course that we have received:  two weeks ago, Ron’s father, Bub Borman, finished his course.  Ron feels privileged that he was able to spend a week with his dad, interacting and reminiscing over pictures and stories before he had a stroke.  Four days later, Dad moved on to heaven and a grand reunion with his Lord and Savior, wife Bobbie and many others who have gone on ahead. He is greatly missed, but we remind ourselves he has just gone on ahead and we will see him again.  What a marvelous hope!

Our family is planning a memorial service to honor and remember this faithful servant on Saturday, September 29th.  Here is a link to the information:

In Oregon, Esther’s mom made a decision to get a total knee replacement surgery and was quickly placed on the calendar for the 5th of September!  This was the first reason a change came to our calendar to stay a month longer in the States.  Then when Ron’s dad passed and the memorial date was set, that gave us the second reason.  So, our new return date to Ecuador has been moved to October 11th.

Life has been very full these past several weeks with every day life.  We appreciate your continued prayers.

Prayer requests:

  • For travel for the family the last week of September and first week of October as many of the Bormans will be flying back and forth for our Grandfather, Father and Father-in-law’s memorial service.
  • Esther’s mom’s healing from her knee replacement.  She’s had some challenges with sensitivities to the pain medications which has set her back a little.  Pray we can get past this part soon.  Otherwise, we are amazed at how well she can already walk with the assistance of a walker.
  • Ramon will be coming up to Quito next week to talk to the people at Biblica about the Cofan/Spanish translation work.  Ron was hoping to be there for this discussion, but God has something different in mind.
  • For Aaron who will be starting classes at Ecola Bible College on October 7th.

  1. I have so many precious memories of ” Uncle Bub” ,who was not really my uncle, but part of my family unit as an MK growing up in Ecuador. We have such a rich heritage from our earliest recolections! I will be keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate his homegoing!
